< The petition ~ Managed to fill 4 petitons!!

Hi there , have managed to fill 4 petitions and haven't finished yet .... everyone we asked were sympathetic with our views so we had no problem getting them ..... must agree with you though re Help The Aged , the local charity shop would not agree to having one on their counter even though we pointed out that this problem affects mainly the elderly , but to no avail ...... they did agree however to have one in their staff room ..... Oh well we tried ....... so come on all you good folk get downloading and print these forms and please get out there for those much needed signatures Smile

Are you still collecting signatures for the petition? I assume I can hand out the campaign flyer with the petition as no explanation why it is a good thing to sign actually on the petition itself.

Hi Janis,

Yes the petition forms have been distributed along with the Newsletter (the snail mail version) so it is still active. I have well over 2000 signatures and i'm keeping it going till I see what the PCT try next and / or it gets handed to No. 10 when suitable media attention can be generated. Its very much a work in progress.

You can see both the on-line and hand written documents within the awarness DVD uploads.

Hello Shaky

Good, I will try to get some signatures from relatives of patients and patients where possible in the ward in Epsom hospital where my mother is. I guess the simplest way of explaining this complicated issue is simply to say to them that by law they might well expect to have their care fully funded by the NHS and should not be persuaded by Social Services to use their savings or home to pay for it. And that the campaign aim is to achieve a change in the law whereby all care is paid for by the NHS just as it is in Scotland at the moment (even telling them this is not that simple!).

Do you agree with that?
